Code of Ethics
What
NAASAS Members Represent
NAASAS
provides a code of ethics to unify the Adult Industry. Our code assists
us in bringing advancements to the science and art of sexuality and
promotes a higher level of responsibility and professionalism within
it.
The
NAASAS Code of Ethics serves the following purposes:

core values on which NAASAS is based. |

Socializes
NAASAS members to the adult industry's movement to higher values,
ethical principles, and standards. |

|
Summarizes
ethical principles that reflect NAASAS core values and establishes
a set of specific ethical standards that should be used to guide
the adult industry. |

Are
designed to help NAASAS members identify professional obligations. |

Respect
for Other Professionals in the Adult Industry
NAASAS
members shall not make misleading comparisons of another company’s products
or services. Any comparison must be based on facts that can be objectively
substantiated.
NAASAS members shall not denigrate any other member, business, product
or service – directly or by implication – in a false or misleading manner
and shall not take unfair advantage of the goodwill attached to the
name and symbol of any company, business, product or service.
Respect
Toward Humanity
NAASAS
members shall exhibit respect for the civil rights of all people regardless
of ethnicity, religious beliefs, or sexual orientation.
Respect
for the Planet
NAASAS
members shall make efforts to take care of the environment by doing
things such as-
- Encourage
the manufacturing of Green Sexual Products
Produce sexual products made from glass, metal, silicone, hard plastics,
or elastomers that can be recycled.
- Support
programs that assist consumers in recycling sex toys.
- Use
recycled, recyclable and reused packing materials.
- Employ
the proper disposal of batteries and other components.
- Recycle
all cardboard or reuse if possible.
- Ensure
excess office paper is shredded and properly disposed of or recycled
for use in packing; and take measures to create a paperless office.
- Recycle
clamshells, plastic bags and other plastic products.
- Recycle
all outdated and nonfunctioning electronic equipment.
- Use
environmentally friendly lighting sources.
- Encourage
use of rechargeable batteries including a link to the EHSO (Environmental
Health and Safety Online) website providing access to a list of
numerous drop off battery recycling sites in their areas.
Child
Safety
NAASAS
members take great care to protect children from adult content. This
includes but is not limited to-
- Keeping
Minors From Accessing Adult Materials
- Encouragement
of only sex acts that are between consenting adults.
- Prevention
of Child Pornography:
- Compliance
with the current standards of record keeping by the US Government.
Such as- Adult Disclaimers, Adherence to current applicable
2257 Regulations.
- Statements
that all models were 18 or older at the time of depiction.
- Label
websites as "adult".
- Report
incidences of suspected child pornography to ASACP.org.
Promotion
of Public Safety
The
primary mission of a NAASAS member is to enhance human sexuality. Thus,
NAASAS members promote physical, mental and emotional safety to employees
and consumers. This includes but is not limited to-
- HIV
/ AIDS Education & Prevention
- Internet
Safety-
Provide secure websites to allow consumers to conduct safe sharing
of personal and financial information. Also, adhere to proper labeling
of websites to show adult content where appropriate.
- Prevention
of Sexual Harassment
NAASAS members should not sexually harass consumers or colleagues.
Sexual harassment includes undesired sexual advances, sexual solicitation,
requests for sexual favors, and other verbal or physical conduct
of a sexual nature.
Deceptive
or Unlawful Recruiting Practices
No member of NAASAS shall engage in deceptive, false, unethical or unlawful
recruiting practices. NAASAS members shall ensure that no statements,
promises or testimonials are made that are likely to mislead prospective
employees or consultants.
Adherence
to the Law
NAASAS members shall comply with all requirements of the law and are
encouraged to seek legal council when attempting to run a business in
the adult industry based on their individual needs and location.
Products,
Services and Promotional Materials
NAASAS
members, when selling products and / or services, shall be accurate
and truthful as to grade, quality, make, value, performance, quantity,
currency of model and availability. A consumer's order for products
and services shall be fulfilled in a timely manner.
NAASAS
members shall offer consumers accurate information regarding: price,
terms of payment, including return policies; terms of guarantee; after-sales
service; and delivery dates. If
operating a company, sales people shall be given understandable and
accurate answers to questions for consumers.
Warranties
and Guarantees
NAASAS
members shall offer only warranties or guarantees to the buyer in a
manner that fully conforms to federal and state warranty and guarantee
laws and regulations. Manufacturers, distributors and / or sellers shall
fully and promptly perform in accordance with the terms of all warranties
and guarantees offered to consumers.
Identification
and Privacy
NAASAS
members shall truthfully and clearly identify themselves, their company,
the nature of their company’s products or services, and the reason for
any solicitations. Contact with the consumer shall be made in a polite
manner and during reasonable hours. A demonstration or sales presentation
shall stop upon the consumer’s request.
NAASAS
members shall take appropriate steps to safeguard the protection of
all private information provided by a consumer, a prospective consumer,
or other independent sales people.
Earnings Representations
NAASAS
members shall not misrepresent the actual or potential sales or earnings
of its independent salespeople or business as a whole. Any earnings
or sales representations that are made by member companies shall be
based on documented facts.
